Great Gift Ideas For Mates At School
Whether it’s for a birthday, holiday, graduation or just because you know that your friend deserves unique gifts. You don’t always have to go out and buy something for them like you normally do, instead, you might want to consider being more creative by making your own special present for them.
One thing you can make are handmade soaps which can be quite unique gifts with a little bit of creativity. This is not a very easy craft idea. All you are going to need is glycerin soap, some dyes for soap, soap molds, a measuring cup, spoon a knife and a coffee stirrer.
Take the glycerin soap and cut it into a couple of chunks and then put it in the measuring cup and microwave for around 20 seconds or so. Check the soap and if not melted microwave for 10 seconds several times until the soap is all melted. This is when you would add several drops of the dye to add your color.
Take your soap and pour into your mold. Put aside to harden for about an hour. In the meantime clean out your measuring cup and start over making another bar in a different color and different mold. After you have made all the soap you want and they are cooled off pop them out of the molds. If they stick, put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes and try to pop them out again.
If your friend has a lot of womens jewellery you might want to make her some nice necklace hangers which can make for some unique gifts. You’ll need some glue, a pair of scissors, cardboard, material of your choosing, quilt batting, cup hooks, picture hanger and some lace.
Cut the cardboard into a heart shape, take the batting and do the same. Then cut your material into a heart shape but make sure that it’s bigger than the cardboard so it overlaps it. Put the material over the cardboard and batting and pull over it tightly.
Take some small clips or clothes pins and clip down the material and then glue material to the back of the heart. Let it dry before you move on. After it’s dried put in the hooks on the front, add the hanger to the back and put on the lace with some glue.
Votive candle holders with glitter and jewels are another great idea to make. Simple and fun and all you need are baby food jars, white glue, flat backed jewels, glitter glue, glitter, paint brush and ribbon to create this project.
Put some glitter glue on the jar and then add a jewel to the glue and push down onto the jar. Do this all around the jar until you feel you have enough jewels on the jar. Once you have done this and it’s dried, take some glue and your paint brush and put glue all over the jar around the jewels and then sprinkle glitter all over the jar.
Brush some white glue on the jar sides right below the threads and all around the jewels. Take the regular glitter and sprinkle it over the glue and then let dry. Tie your ribbon around the threaded part of the jars and put in some candles and your unique gifts are ready to be presented to your friend.
