Discover What Type Of Tuxedo To Buy For The Prom

Most people will find that their first tuxedo wearing experience comes in the form of the prom tuxedo. In fact, this may be the only tuxedo they wear before they get married or attend a close friends wedding. If you’re doing research on what kind of tuxedo to wear to your prom, you have come to the right place.

In this article, I’ll go over the different types of tuxedo models and give advice on why you should or shouldn’t wear each particular style to your prom. By the time you have finished reading this post, you’ll be thoroughly prepared for the next prom.

To begin with, it is important to realize that there are 3 kinds of tuxes that you can choose from. The notch lapel tuxedo, the shawl lapel tuxedo, and the peak lapel tuxedo are the three main styles on the market today. There is also a mandarin style tuxedo, but this probably shouldn’t be worn to an American prom. It doesn’t take much knowledge to distinguish between these three styles. Just in case you didn’t know, a tuxedo lapel can be found between the collar and the top of the jacket.

The notch lapel tuxedo looks just like a suit jacket. This style tends to be a bit less formal than a peak lapel tux, but more formal than a shawl tux. A notch lapel tuxedo is something that you can wear to a prom without raising any eyebrows. Personally I prefer the peak lapel but whichever one you choose will work.

You’ll notice that shawl lapel tuxedos don’t have any notches or peaks in them. The best example of this type of jacket is Hugh Heffner’s smoking jacket. You’ll find that even though it is a little snazzier when placed on a tuxedo, it is still very informal. Wear this type of tuxedo jacket when you want to go for a more casual look at the prom.

The peak lapel tuxedo has high points at the top of the lapel and looks very stately. This tuxedo style is absolutely perfect for weddings and proms. It is very dressy and makes people look quite dashing.

Do you realize that it can often be less costly to buy a tux rather than to rent one? For more information on this and various other issues related to the men’s tuxedo, take a look at www.the-tuxedo-guide.com.
