  • Egypt at around the same time, charms were used as symbols of religion and considered lucky
  • Christian’s in Roman times used to carry a fish shaped charm, to prove their faith and Jewish scholars would wear tiny charm lockets around their necks containing passages from their scriptures
  • Knights in believed in Medieval times charms could protect them in battle
  • Charms represented the origin of a family and their religion

England’s Queen Victoria began another trend, the Queen wore charms as a fashion. The Queens trend then entered the European nobles. After this, soldiers from World War Two would bring charms back to their loved ones.
